Giving Tuesday, Irony, and the Magical Fountain of Generosity
Yes, this is a fundraising message!
Dear Friends,
Here in the U.S., many people follow up on an annual food binge with a week of binge shopping.
Exhausted, bloated, and apparently suffering from a huge irony deficiency, we finally drag ourselves into something called "Giving Tuesday,” a.k.a. today.
Delightfully, Giving Tuesday was invented by a Chicago theater director. I kid you not.
But for reals, a fountain of generosity lives in the heart of reality. This fountain continually pours out its theater of beings, worlds, and the play of circumstance.
The fountain of generosity also lives in us.
One of the most magical results of my nearly 40 years of doing spiritual practice is that I came to the deep recognition that generosity is the greatest of life's joys. At some point, we give because it aligns us with nature and just feels so darned good.
Here at Jaya Kula, we give away a lot of free stuff. We don’t have the idea that it’s right or spiritual. We do it because it feels good to help out.
All year long, we offer free live meditations, podcasts, articles, videos, recorded practices, and our website which is bursting with free resources.
A lot of the other stuff we offer is by donation, including our twice-weekly satsang + kirtan.
Unfortunately, free to you is not free for us. We have to pay for rent, food, utilities, and all the tech that helps us get all those freebies out the door.
So today, I invite you to join in helping us to keep the offerings flowing in the coming year.
If you’ve enjoyed our newsletter, perhaps a podcast or three, or you’ve joined us in satsang or morning worship, please join with us today in giving. Here’s the link.
Jaya Kula operates on pretty much the proverbial shoestring budget. So please know that anything you can give is deeply appreciated!
And whenever you have the opportunity to give, I hope you will also join with me in feeling the contentment and fulfillment that giving brings.
Victory to the Fountain!
with infinite love, Shambhavi
P.S. Jaya Kula is a 100% community-supported 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Any donation you make is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
